Shh... a secret recipe!

Each Christmas brings the arrival of these delicious darlings on the porches of neighbors and friends. We have to deliver them or I would eat them all - every. single. last. one.

I have been asked for our secret family recipe over and over through the years, so I thought I would share it here in the Hollow! It is so incredibly easy, you will giggle.

Harvest Moon Hollow Peanut Clusters

2 12 oz. bags semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 12 oz. bags milk chocolate chips
2 12 oz bags white chocolate chips
2 cans cocktail peanuts (more or less depending on your affinity for nuttiness)

Melt the chocolate together, stirring constantly. Turn off the heat. Stir in the peanuts. Drop by spoonful onto wax paper or tin foil. Refrigerate until hard.

That's it! I told you it was easy, peasy, lemon squeezy as my children like to say. These little devils are best kept in the refrigerator until ready to devour. They also freeze wonderfully well. The recipe can easily be reduced or increased without effecting the results. We have been known to make batches with six bags of each - with peanut clusters dripping from every surface in our home.

My children start their Christmas break in two hours - I am so excited to have them home and to have the festivities really begin. I hope your weekend will be just as delightful!

  1. Thank you for the recipe! I used to devour those when you would bring them by. So tasty, that this morning I took a very uncharacteristic run to the grocery store, picked up the ingredients and made them already. Yum! Thanks so much.

  2. YEAH! :D Our family has a tradition of making cookies and sharing them while caroling at Christmas time. We MAY not have an oven this year, but will have a stove top; we can do this! I'm so happy that I found this; thanks so much for sharing!! :D
