Time for a recipe!

This recipe is my 'most requested' recipe. It's just a simple loaf of banana bread, but oh so good! I think it's the buttermilk that makes the difference.

Harvest Moon Hollow Banana Bread
1 1/4 C sugar
1/2 C butter softened
2 lg eggs
1 1/2 C mashed bananas (3-4 bananas)
1/2 C buttermilk
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 C flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 C chopped nuts (optional)

Heat oven to 350. Grease bottom of loaf pan. Mix sugar and butter. Stir in eggs until well blended. Add bananas, buttermilk and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt just until moistened. Stir in nuts. Pour into pans. Bake 1 hour. Cool 5 minutes in pans and then remove. Makes 2 loaves.

Happy Baking!

  1. I adore buttermilk. I will have to try it. I have sure missed it the last two years.
